Gūrchīn Persian 2023

In this novel, the author juxtaposes the past and present of the characters, revisiting their regrets, disappointments, sorrows, and moments of happiness in an attempt to uncover the source of the sadness that has settled deep within their lives. These are enduring emotions, feelings that are often far from pleasant and seem impossible to erase. No matter how hard the characters try to rid themselves of them, their deep stains remain etched into the fabric of their lives.

The novel tells the story of a woman whose youth was marked by the challenges of pregnancy and childbirth. Although she managed to overcome that difficult period, she now finds herself facing another crisis on the threshold of old age. Trapped in a state of melancholy, she reaches back into the past in search of relief. As she revisits earlier chapters of her life, she begins to uncover long-buried family secrets.

But how do men confront their own crises? Perhaps they seek escape in a different way: through wandering, wandering through both the past and the present.
