Adabīyāt dar Maḥkamah-yi Tārīkh: Persian 1401

Literary adventurers have filed many lawsuits against ancient literature and tried to condemn it, but the judge of history acquits ancient literature without succumbing to their sophistry and mischief. Only two groups are condemned in the face of history: the conservatives, who want to use the greatness of past literature as a decisive weapon to prevent literary modernization, and the hard-line imitators, who want to impose the plagiarism of European ideas and concepts on Iranian literature in the name of innovation and modernization. The writers of the present generation have a heavy and difficult task. They must promote true modernization without giving in to the clamor of exaggerators or the clamor of old-fashioned people, and try to ensure that our literature today adapts to the requirements of the times and strives to make it a continuation of the glorious literature of yesterday.
