Kullīyāt-i Shāhnāmah bih nasr Persian 2011

“Shahnameh”, the timeless masterpiece of Hakim Abol-Qasem Ferdowsi, is one of the greatest epic works in world literature and one of the most significant works of the Persian language. Composed during the fourth and fifth centuries AH (tenth and eleventh centuries CE), this monumental poem contains nearly 60,000 verses and narrates the mythical, heroic, and cultural history of Iran from the creation of the world to the end of the Sasanian period.

Because the original poetic language of Shahnameh can be challenging for many modern readers, Rahimeh Gorjian has retold its stories in clear and accessible prose. To preserve the connection with Ferdowsi’s original work, each chapter begins with selected verses from the Shahnameh, followed by a simplified and contemporary narration of the story.

This book aims to bring one of Iran’s most valuable literary and cultural treasures closer to today’s readers, making it easier to discover the characters, narratives, and universal human themes of the Shahnameh.
