“Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh (Poetry–Prose) in 8 Volumes” is an extensive recreation of the epic masterpiece by Hakim Abol-Qasem Ferdowsi, prepared by Shahla Ensani. This collection draws on the original text of the Shahnameh and was developed through comparison with two authoritative editions by Jules Mohl and the Moscow edition, presenting the stories of this monumental work for contemporary readers.

In this collection, the original poetic narratives of the Shahnameh are presented alongside prose retellings, allowing readers to experience both the grandeur of Ferdowsi’s language and the flow of the epic stories more easily. The prose adaptation provides broader access to the mythical, heroic, and historical events of the Shahnameh, from the reigns of the early legendary kings of Iran, including the Pishdadian and Kayanian dynasties, to the heroic deeds of Rostam and other legendary warriors of Iran.
