What is politics and political life? What effect does the ideological orientation of political regimes have on the distribution of power among social forces? Basically, what is the government? What is its origin? What is the role of governments in social and political life? What is the relationship between social groups and forces with the government? Political sociology tries to answer these questions and similar questions that may be on the mind of every student of political science and sociology and even people interested in political affairs. In this book, the author has limited the main task of political sociology to examining the relationship between government power and social groups and forces, so that the "discipline" of political sociology, in its strict sense, is distinguished from other branches of political science. He has tested various aspects of political sociology issues both in the field of theory and in the field of practice. The author has also examined the theories and performance of various social forces from a historical point of view and tested them by citing historical evidence and documents. Hossein Bashiriyeh, writer and political sociologist, was born in 1332 in Hamadan. He completed his bachelor's degree in political science at Tehran University and then went to England to continue his studies. In 1979, he received his master's degree in political behavior from the University of Essex, England, and in 1982 he received his doctorate in political theory from the University of Liverpool. He was a political science lecturer at Tehran University's Faculty of Law and Political Science for twenty-four years and is currently teaching at Syracuse University's Faculty of Political Science in New York. Leviathan was recognized as worthy of recognition with his translation in the 20th edition of the book of the year (group of social sciences).
