Dūd: Persian 1403

A woman, a boy, and a cat live together in a cabin in the middle of the forest, quietly most of the time, as the boy barely speaks. They have no contact with anyone, except for the visits of a man who brings them provisions from time to time. They are not family, but together they get by. Outside, nature is becoming the dazzling landscape that surrounds the protagonists, sometimes taking on sinister overtones. They subsist on what they get from a garden that is increasingly producing less fruit, and on what they get from the nearby forest. In the distance, in the cities, it seems that there are also strange turbulences, whose threat is projected onto the cabin. José Ovejero presents us with these solitary characters, without the souls of heroes, and makes us reflect on the meaning of life, the ties that unite us to the people around us, and the ability to survive in adverse situations.
