Procopius was the historiographer and secretary of Blizarius (Great Roman empire's commander) who wrote the history of that period of time and also Blizarius wars in 7 volumes, these volumes are accounting a great historical reference which 2 volumes are specialized to wars between Iran and Roman empires). After then the Procopius wrote "The secret history" that was not able to publish it at that time and describes the corruptions and felonies of emperor Yustiniyan.

پروكوپيوس وقايع نگار و منشي بليزاريوس سردار بزرگ روم و هماورد نامدار خسرو انوشيروان ساساني، تاريخ دوران خود و به ويژه جنگ هاي بليزاريوس را در هفت جلد نوشته است كه از مهم ترين مراجع تاريخي آن دوران محسوب مي شود. ( دو جلد آن مربوط به ايران و جنگهاي ان دوران است ). پروكوپيوس سپس در اين كتاب "تاريخ سري" كه در زمان خودش قابل انتشار نبوده و ظاهرا قرني پس از مرگش به چاپ رسيده، به افشاگري پرداخته و آنچه كه از فساد، جنايتها و فجايع دوران امپراتور يوستي نيان و امپراتريس ثئودورا مي دانسته را بيان نموده است.
