In any case, as we have said, our conception took place on the banks of the Sirvan River, in the midst of flight, while the silvery glow of the moon blanketed everything. Perhaps it is for this reason that whenever I have wished to contemplate the fate of my ancestors, I have invariably seen before me three elements: escape, the river’s rushing current, and the light of the moon.

به هر حال چنان که گفتیم، نطفهی ما در ساحل رودخانهی سیروان و در حین فرار بسته شد. در حالیکه نور نقرهفام ماه همه چیز را پوشش میداد. شاید به همین دلیل باشد که هر وقت خواسته ام به سرنوشت اجدادم بیاندیشم پیشاپیش سه عامل فرار و جریان خروشان رود و نور ماه را مشاهده نمودهام.
