Yād-dāsht-hā-ye yek ketāb-forūsh - 3 Persian 2025

The third volume of Notes of a Bookseller continues Nasser Zeraati’s engaging narratives from his years of activity at the “House of Art and Literature” bookstore in Gothenburg, Sweden—a bookstore that for more than two decades served as a gathering place for writers, Iranian migrants, and lovers of culture and literature.

This collection includes short, medium-length, and longer pieces in a variety of forms, such as short stories, memoirs, anecdotes, humorous notes, political and social commentary, literary criticism, letters, book introductions, aphoristic miniatures, and translations. The texts are at times serious and reflective, at other times witty and playful, yet all are rooted in the author’s lived experiences—experiences drawn from the cultural life of the Iranian diaspora, the atmosphere of the bookstore, and the human relationships that surrounded it.

The third volume was published concurrently with the 2025 “Uncensored Book Fair” in Gothenburg and, like the previous two volumes, offers an intimate and multi-layered portrait of life, literature, and social concerns. It is a compelling and valuable work for readers interested in contemporary Persian literature, the oral history of migration, and cultural narratives emerging from outside Iran.
