Taẕkirat al-Awliyāʾ is one of the most distinguished works of Persian literature, composed by the sixth–seventh century poet, mystic, and master narrative artist Farīd al-Dīn Abū Ḥāmid ʿAṭṭār of Nishapur, whose contributions enriched the precious treasury of Iranian literary heritage. Drawing on the spiritual and literary legacy of his predecessors, ʿAṭṭār created numerous poetic masterpieces and also authored the unparalleled prose work Taẕkirat al-Awliyāʾ, further developing and refining the symbolic language of Persian mystical writing.
The present edition has been typeset and printed based on the Leiden facsimile, first published in 1905 through the efforts of Reynold A. Nicholson—the eminent British scholar of Sufism and Islamic mysticism and professor of Persian at the University of Cambridge.

«تذکره الاولیاء» یکی از آثار برجسته ادبیات فارسی است که نویسنده، شاعر و عارف سدههای ششم و هفتم فریدالدین ابوحامد عطار نیشابوری به گنجینه پرگوهر و ارزشمند ادبیات ایران افزوده است. عطار با بهرهگیری از میراث برجایمانده از اسلاف خویش به خلق منظومههای متعدد و نیز کتاب کممانند «تذکره الاولیاء» پرداخت و این زبان نمادین را بیش از پیش رشد و توسعه داد. این تصحیح از روی نسخه افست چاپ لیدن حروفچینی و چاپ شده است. این نسخه نخست در سال 1905 به کوشش رنولد الن نیکلسون ـ محقق بریتانیایی در زمینه عرفان و تصوف و مدرس زبان فارسی در دانشگاه کمبریج ـ به چاپ رسید.
