Gholamhossein Yousefi, a professor of Persian language and literature at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, was born on February 2, 1306, in holy Mashhad. He completed his primary and secondary education in the same city and went to Tehran in 1325 to study for a bachelor's degree in Persian language and literature. In 1328-1330, he continued his studies in the doctoral course at Tehran University and officially started his work in Farhang Khorasan in 1329. With the establishment of the Mashhad School of Literature in 1334, he started teaching the history of literature courses in this school and until October 1358, when he retired in honor of his retirement, he taught at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses.

غلامحسين يوسفى استاد زبان و ادبيات فارسى دانشگاه فردوسى مشهد، دوم بهمن 1306 در مشهد مقدّس متولّد شد. تحصيلات ابتدايى و متوسطه را در همان شهر به پايان برد و از سال 1325 براى تحصيل در دوره ليسانس زبان و ادبيات فارسى به تهران رفت. در سال 1328 ـ 1330 در دوره دكترى دانشگاه تهران به تحصيل خود ادامه داد و از سال 1329 رسمآ كار خود را در فرهنگ خراسان آغاز كرد و همزمان دوره ليسانس حقوق قضايى و سياسى دانشكده حقوق دانشگاه تهران را هم گذراند. با تأسيس دانشكده ادبيات مشهد از سال 1334 تدريس دروس تاريخ ادبيات را در اين دانشكده آغاز كرد و تا مهر ماه 1358 كه به افتخار بازنشستگى نايل آمد در دانشگاه فردوسى مشهد در دوره‌هاى ليسانس و فوق ليسانس و دكترى به تدريس پرداخت.
