The book Doll's House is a play written by Henrik Ibsen, which for the first time depicted the hypocrisy and deceit of middle-class marriage on the stage in the Victorian era. This play tells the story of Nora Helmer's separation from her former carefree life; Nora, who has lived her entire life under the control of her father and her husband, Torvald, questions the foundation of all her beliefs after her marriage is challenged. Borrowing money by forging her father's signature, Nora goes to Italy to save her sick husband's life. Since then, Nora is forced to look for ways to pay back her debt and get to know the complex rules of the surrounding world.

کتاب عروسکخانه، نمایشنامه ای نوشته ی هنریک ایبسن است که برای نخستین بار، دورویی و تزویرِ ازدواجِ افرادی از طبقه ی متوسط در عصر ویکتوریا را بر روی صحنه به تصویر کشید. این نمایشنامه، داستان جدایی نورا هلمر از زندگی بدون ماجرا و بی دغدغه ی سابق خود را روایت می کند؛ نورا که تمام زندگی خود را تحت سلطه ی پدر و همسرش، توروالد، گذرانده است، پایه و اساس تمامی باورهای خود را پس از به چالش کشیده شدن ازدواجش به زیر سوال می برد. نورا با قرض گرفتن پول از طریق جعل امضای پدرش به ایتالیا می رود تا جان همسر بیمار خود را نجات دهد. از همان زمان، نورا مجبور می شود به دنبال راه هایی برای پس دادن بدهی خود باشد و با قواعد پیچیده ی دنیای پیرامون آشنا شود.
