Emily Brontë (born July 30, 1818, Yorkshire – died December 19, 1848) was an English novelist and poet whose only novel, Wuthering Heights, secured her a lasting place in world literature. As one of the famous Brontë sisters, alongside Charlotte and Anne, she contributed to the legacy of 19th-century English fiction. Wuthering Heights, with its complex structure, intense characters, and themes of love, revenge, and death, is considered a masterpiece of Gothic and Romantic literature. Her poetry, rich in natural imagery, solitude, and philosophical reflection, reveals a fiercely imaginative and introspective spirit. Though she lived a brief and reclusive life in the village of Haworth, Emily created a haunting and poetic universe that continues to captivate readers.
امیلی برونته (زادهٔ 30 ژوییه 1818، یورکشایر – درگذشتهٔ 19 دسامبر 1848) نویسنده و شاعر انگلیسی بود که با تنها رمان خود، بلندی‌های بادگیر (Wuthering Heights)، جایگاهی جاودانه در ادبیات جهان یافت. او یکی از خواهران مشهور خانوادهٔ برونته بود و در کنار شارلوت و آن، به خلق آثار ادبی ماندگار پرداخت. بلندی‌های بادگیر با ساختار پیچیده، شخصیت‌های پرتنش، و مضامین عشق، انتقام و مرگ، از شاهکارهای ادبیات گوتیک و رمانتیک محسوب می‌شود. اشعار امیلی نیز سرشار از طبیعت‌گرایی، تنهایی و تأملات فلسفی‌اند. زندگی کوتاه و منزوی او در روستای هاورت، با تخیل قدرتمند و روحی سرکش، به خلق جهانی تاریک و شاعرانه در ادبیات انجامید.
