Charlotte Brontë (born April 21, 1816, Yorkshire – died March 31, 1855) was an English novelist and the eldest of the literary Brontë sisters, best known for her iconic novel Jane Eyre. Her works, marked by fluent prose, deep character development, and themes of female independence, love, and social inequality, are pillars of classic English literature. Other notable novels include Villette, Shirley, and The Professor. Initially writing under the male pseudonym “Currer Bell” to avoid gender bias, Charlotte faced personal tragedies with the loss of her siblings and her own early death, yet her literary legacy continues to inspire readers and writers worldwide.
شارلوت برونته (زادهٔ 21 آوریل 1816، یورکشایر – درگذشتهٔ 31 مارس 1855) نویسندهٔ انگلیسی و بزرگ‌ترین خواهر از خانوادهٔ ادبی برونته بود که با رمان جین ایر شهرت جهانی یافت. آثار او با نثری روان، شخصیت‌پردازی عمیق و مضامین استقلال زن، عشق، و مبارزه با نابرابری اجتماعی، از ستون‌های ادبیات کلاسیک انگلیسی محسوب می‌شوند. از دیگر آثار مهم او می‌توان به ویلت، شار و استاد اشاره کرد. شارلوت در ابتدا با نام مستعار مردانه «کورر بل» می‌نوشت تا از تبعیض جنسیتی در دنیای ادبیات بگریزد. زندگی شخصی او با فقدان خواهرانش و مرگ زودهنگامش همراه بود، اما میراث ادبی‌اش همچنان الهام‌بخش نویسندگان و خوانندگان در سراسر جهان است.
