Behrūz Gerānpāyeh

He was born in 1956 in Shiraz. He spent his childhood and elementary schooling in the old neighborhoods of the city and received his high-school diploma from Shahpour High School in 1974. Although he is chiefly known for his work in journalism and social research, he has also written poetry and engaged in literary activities that are largely unrelated to his academic background. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Machinery from Shiraz University and a master’s degree in Systems Management and Productivity from Amirkabir University of Technology.
He has published several articles on modern Persian poetry, media ethics and development, the causes of political change in Egypt’s revolution, and literary analysis.
