Today, the issue of acquiring knowledge and education for children and youth is one of the most important issues for families and educational officials. Today's societies are in a process of increasing complexity, and young people need to acquire many skills and knowledge in order to better fulfill their future roles. Therefore, they must acquire a lot of this knowledge through special institutions such as schools. But education has not always been so extensive and so important and has been limited to certain classes. This book consists of two parts. In the first part, the theoretical issues related to the subject are discussed, and in the following, the social capital of the individual and the family and its role in the academic performance of the children are discussed.

امروزه مسئله کسب علم و تحصیلات کودکان و جوانان یکی از مهم‌ترین مسائل خانواده‌ها و مسئولین آموزشی و پرورشی است. جوامع امروزی در یک فرآیند پیچیدگی فزاینده قرار دارند و جوانان به خاطر این که بتوانند نقش‌های آتی خود را بهتر ایفا کنند باید مهارت‌ها و دانش‌های زیادی را کسب کنند. لذا آن‌ها باید از طریق نهادهای خاصی مانند آموزشگاه‌ها و مدارس بسیاری از این دانش‌ها را به دست بیاورند. ولی آموزش همیشه به این میزان گسترده و از این اهمیت برخوردار نبوده و محدود به اقشار خاصی بوده است. کتاب حاضر از دو بخش تشکیل شده در بخش اول مباحث نظری مرتبط با موضوع مورد بحث قرار گرفته و در ادامه موضوع سرمایه اجتماعی فرد و خانواده و نقش آن در عملکرد تحصیلی فرزندان مورد بحث قرار گرفته است.
