Frederic Gardner Kelp is an American geologist who traveled to Iran three times during the first Pahlavi period with the aim of oil exploration in the northern regions of Iran, especially Khorasan, on behalf of the American oil company Bassi Bord and investigated many areas in Iran. The result of his travels was a booklet about the discoveries of eastern Iran and several lectures. Although Gardner Kelp was not a professional photographer, he recorded many images during his travels that can be useful for historical and anthropological research. This book contains a selection of pictures that he took during his travels in Iran from different regions.

فردریک گاردنر کلپ زمین شناسی آمریکایی است که با هدف اکتشاف نفت در مناطق شمالی ،ایران، به ویژه خراسان به نمایندگی از شرکت نفت آمریکایی بسی بورد در دوره پهلوی اول سه بار به ایران سفر کرد و مناطق بسیاری را در ایران مورد بررسی قرار داد. نتیجه سفرهای او کتابچه ای درباره اکتشافات شرق ایران و چندین سخنرانی بود. اگرچه گاردنر کلپ عکاس حرفه ای نبود، اما تصاویر بسیاری در طی بسفرهای خود ثبت کرده است که میتواند برای پژوهشهای تاریخی و مردم شناسی مفید باشد. این کتاب شامل گزیده تصاویری است که او در طول سفر در ایران از مناطق مختلف عکس برداری کرده است.
