Kazuo Ishiguro (born November 8, 1954, Nagasaki, Japan) is a Japanese-born British novelist, screenwriter, and lyricist, widely regarded as one of the most acclaimed contemporary authors writing in English. He moved to the UK at age five and studied at the University of Kent and the University of East Anglia. His novels—including A Pale View of Hills, An Artist of the Floating World, The Remains of the Day, Never Let Me Go, The Buried Giant, and Klara and the Sun—explore themes of memory, identity, love, and humanity. The Remains of the Day won the Booker Prize and was adapted into an award-winning film. In 2017, Ishiguro received the Nobel Prize in Literature for “novels of great emotional force that uncover the abyss beneath our illusory sense of connection with the world”
کازویو ایشی‌گورو (زادهٔ 8 نوامبر 1954، ناگازاکی، ژاپن) نویسنده، فیلم‌نامه‌نویس و شاعر ژاپنی‌تبار بریتانیایی است که با نثری لطیف، فلسفی و عاطفی، یکی از برجسته‌ترین نویسندگان معاصر انگلیسی‌زبان شناخته می‌شود. او در پنج‌سالگی به بریتانیا مهاجرت کرد و تحصیلات خود را در دانشگاه‌های کنت و آنگلیای شرقی ادامه داد. ایشی‌گورو با رمان‌هایی چون منظر پریده‌رنگ تپه‌ها، هنرمندی از جهان شناور، بازماندهٔ روز، هرگز رهایم مکن، غول دفن‌شده و کلارا و خورشید، به بررسی مفاهیمی چون حافظه، هویت، عشق، و انسانیت پرداخته است. رمان بازماندهٔ روز جایزهٔ بوکر را برای او به ارمغان آورد و اقتباس سینمایی آن نیز موفق بود. در سال 2017، ایشی‌گورو جایزهٔ نوبل ادبیات را برای «رمان‌هایی با نیروی احساسی عظیم که شکاف میان توهم و واقعیت را آشکار می‌کنند» دریافت کرد
