The book “Daftar-e Alhan (Songs of Barbad)” is a new poetry collection by Amir Hakimi, published by Asemana. This volume is the result of repeated readings of Nizami’s works, particularly his masterpiece Khosrow and Shirin, and was composed over six months, from Esfand 1399 to Shahrivar 1400 (February–March 2021 to August–September 2021). The collection comprises 30 musical pieces, each named after one of Barbad’s melodies. The thirtieth piece, “The Sweet Garden,” consists of four sections—Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter—each dedicated to a prominent contemporary Iranian director.

Amir Hakimi, a poet and researcher of modern Persian poetry and Iranian modernity, has played a significant role in reviving lesser-known currents in contemporary Persian poetry. Through the editing and historiography of experimental poets, he has worked to bring their aesthetic experiences to a new generation of readers. Hakimi, with over two decades of experience in poetry, fiction, and literary research, has primarily published outside official channels in Iran, viewing the internet and independent publishing as opportunities for unrestricted dissemination.

This work continues his previous efforts, including Ajayeb-e Yad and his prior electronic collections, and exemplifies the intersection of poetry, music, and literary research, offering a unique and immersive experience for readers.
