The Divan of Shams-e Tabrizi, also known as the Great Divan (Divan-e Kabir), is the collection of ghazals, quatrains, and poetic refrains (tarji‘āt) composed by Jalal al-Din Mohammad Balkhi (Rumi). Within the Mawlavi (Mevlevi) tradition, this work was long referred to as the Great Divan, but in later centuries—because the majority of the ghazals are addressed to Shams al-Din Tabrizi—it came to be known as the Divan of Shams-e Tabrizi or the Collected Works of Shams.

Various partial and complete versions of the Divan circulated among connoisseurs of poetry and Sufi practitioners, often arranged according to metrical patterns. With the advent of print culture, the book was repeatedly published in Iran and India.

The most authoritative and comprehensive edition is the critical edition by Badi‘ al-Zaman Foruzanfar, based on twelve important early manuscripts. It was published in ten volumes by the University of Tehran between 1957 and 1966. In this edition, the first seven volumes contain the ghazals and poetic refrains, the eighth contains the quatrains, and the final two volumes consist of indexes and reference materials. Altogether, the work comprises 36,360 verses, including 3,230 ghazals, 1,994 quatrains, and 44 poetic refrains.

In some ghazals, Rumi uses his own pen name—khamosh, khamoshān, and similar forms—while in a small number he employs the names of Husam al-Din Chalabi or Salah al-Din Zarkub. Nevertheless, the vast majority of the poems are attributed to Shams-e Tabrizi.
