Five Star English has been developed for people working or training to work in the hotel and toursit industry. It begins at pre-intermediate level and takes the learner trough to a good intermediate level in all four language skills, with particular emphasis on understanding and speaking English. There are 12 main units and 3 revision units, giving an approximate total of classroom teching. Each main unit deals with different aspects of the industry; the situations and activities are as authentic as possible, having been carefully researched with assistance from the Yorkshire and Humberside Tourist Board and the Hong Kong Tourist Association. The accompanying cassette contains listening comprehension and dialogues that present a variety of British, American, and non-native speaker English accents.
