This book contains most of the criticisms and praises that have been written in poetry over a thousand years, from the time of the sage of Tus, Ferdowsi, to our time, against him and his unique work, the Shahnameh, as well as a historical review and classification of these criticisms and praises in six periods: “The denial of Ferdowsi, the end of denial and the beginning of dual perspectives, the rise of legends, the beginning of praise and the rise of guarantees, the rise of legends, praise.” The book begins with critical remarks by Farrokhi Sistani, a pioneering poet of the Ghaznavid era, on the Shahnameh, and ends with an ode by Shafi’i Kadkani, a poet of our time, about Ferdowsi. The author, from conflict to praise, has compiled this highly readable collection at the suggestion of this distinguished master and has made it available to lovers of ancient Persian literature.

این کتاب دربرگیرنده‌ی بیشتر نکوهش‌ها و ستایش‌هایی است که در هزار سال، به شعر، از زمان حکیم طوس، فردوسی، تا زمانه‌ی ما، در حق او و اثر یگانه‌اش، شاهنامه سروده شده است، و همچنین بررسی و طبقه‌بندی تاریخی این نکوهش‌ها و ستایش‌ها در شش دوره: «انکار فردوسی، پایان انکار و آغاز دیدگاه‌های دوگانه، اوج‌گیری افسانه‌ها، آغاز ستایش‌ها و اوج‌گیری تضمین‌ها، اوج‌گیری افسانه‌ها، ستایش». کتاب با اشاره‌های انتقادی فرخی سیستانی، شاعر پیشگام دوره‌ی غزنوی، نسبت به شاهنامه آغاز می‌شود و با قصیده‌ی شفیعی‌کدکنی، شاعر عصر ما، درباره‌ی فردوسی به اتمام می‌رسد. مؤلف از ستیز تا ستایش این مجموعه‌ی بسیار خواندنی را به پیشنهاد همین استاد برجسته گردآوری کرده و در دسترس دوستداران ادب کهن‌سال فارسی قرار داده است.
