The History of Modern Turkey was first published by Ladcoverte (France) as part of its encyclopedia series and was later translated into Turkish, English, Italian, Greek, and German. Despite its small size, the book seeks to provide a comprehensive, new, and integrated look at the political, intellectua, and cultural events and trends in Turkey in the last century. The author, relying on historical processes, tries to explain problems such as the Kurdish problem, the situation of the Alawites, armed violence, and social faults in the country. Hamid Bozarslan is a well-known Turkish historian and sociologist, a member of the faculty of the Paris School of Social Science, and a researcher at the Center for Research on Islamic Societies in France. He has published more than ten works in the field of political history and sociology of Turkey and the Middle East, most of which have been translated into different languages.
