Dr. Zabihullah Safa is one of the first distinguished professors of literature at Tehran University and one of the famous writers of contemporary Iran. His main fame is due to the detailed literary history that he wrote in eight volumes until the beginning of the Qajar era. In addition, he corrected important texts of ancient Persian literature and published them with comments and explanations. Dr. Zabihullah Safa was born in Shahmirzad Semnan in 1290 and was one of the first people to receive a doctorate from Tehran University. And he was the head of the Faculty of Literature for many years and finally died in Lübeck, Germany in 1378. دكتر ذبيح‌اللّه صفا در شمار نخستين استادان برجسته ادبيات در دانشگاه تهران و از اديبان نامدار معاصر ايران است؛ شهرت عمده او مرهون تاريخ ادبيات مفصّلى است كه آن را در هشت مجلد تا ابتداى دوران قاجار نوشته است. افزون بر اين، وى متون مهمى از ادب كهن فارسى را تصحيح كرده و همراه با تعليقات و توضيحات به چاپ رسانده است.دكتر ذبيح‌اللّه صفا در سال 1290 در شهميرزاد سمنان ديده به جهان گشود و از نخستين كسانى بود كه از دانشگاه تهران رتبه دكترى گرفت و سالها رياست دانشكده ادبيات را بر عهده داشت و سرانجام در سال 1378 در لوبك آلمان چشم از جهان فروبست.ششمين دفتر از مجموعه ارج‌نامه‌هاى مركز پژوهشى ميراث مكتوب به بررسى و نقد آثار و متونى اختصاص يافته است كه از سوى اين استاد فقيد تصحيح و منتشر شده است.
