This collection of poems is written in the form of nimai and expresses various social and especially environmental concerns. این مجموعه شعر، در قالب نیمایی سروده شده و بیانگر دغدغه های مختلف اجتماعی و به ویژه زیست محیطی است. در مجموعه «بوق سگ» تنها به فاجعه های زیست محیطی ایران چون آلودگی هوا، از بین رفتن دریاچه ارومیه، خشک شدن هامون و کارون و زاینده رود پرداخته نشده است؛ نگاه شاعر کلی تر بوده و به جنگ بشر با طبیعت و محیط زندگی خود توجه می کند.
