The present work is actually a continuation of the previous efforts of the author in the field of determining the ethnic and cultural destiny of nations and aims to determine the contemporary attitude and approach to their legal dimensions. The principles and rules of international law have been examined in this field. Based on comparative law analysis, the territorial and extra-territorial methods of determining the fate of ethnic groups and their practical experience in some countries have been examined. The issue of determining the fate of nations includes a series of issues that, apart from jurists, should also be taken into consideration by activists of other sciences.
