The Origins of Architectural Form examines the history of Western design theory from ancient times to the present day. Design theory covers wide and diverse topics; From describing the nature of beauty to expressing the social and political consequences of buildings. Sources of form address these fundamental questions, where are the sources of an architect's ideas? How are these ideas generated? have become? What things have influenced their shape? And finally, where did they originate from? The question of the sources of form in other disciplines is equally important as architecture; From art and philosophy to anthropology. With an interdisciplinary approach, this book deals with prominent views about the sources of form in architecture and examines them in the context of Western philosophy. In examining each of the views, the author shows that they did not appear in a vacuum Each of them has used their culture, approaches, methods, and even a certain philosophy, and all of them have shaped ideas about the sources of form.
