When the family gets a new member and all eyes are on him, the older child usually feels a bit neglected in such situations and often develops feelings of jealousy. With the picture book Stigao je brat, children and parents identify with the characters from the story, which will make it easier for parents and older siblings to navigate a new situation. This picture book teaches children how to accept a little brother or sister without jealousy and how to accept that they now have to share their parents' attention, while it teaches parents how to give their older child enough attention so that they don't feel lonely and neglected, despite the baby they now have to take care of much more.
