بدنم یخ کرده بود. در آن هوای پاییزی این واکنش بدنم حقیقتا نوبر بود. پاییز دل انگیزترین فصل من بود. اما آن لحظه وقتی سوز اشک را احساس کردم، هوای پاییزی معنا و مفهوم دیگری یافت. از پشت پردۀ اشک خوب که نگاهش کردم، زیبایی و شیرینی نگاهش رنگ باخته بود. با انگشت های ظریفش که سرد هم بودند، روی گونه های خیسم کشید. تا گفتم چه غریبانه می روی! احساس کردم شهسواری هستم که شهبانویش را به اسیری می بردند. به قول شاعر مکزیکی: «آن که رفت، خاطره اش را برد، چنان رودی رونده، چونان نسیمی گذرا، بدرود و دیگر هیچ.»
