In our country, the correct and precise meaning of "criticism" is not usually used. Those involved in literary activities often do not differentiate between "review and introduction", "analysis" and "criticism" and consider any type of writing in which the author has expressed an opinion about a literary text as a wrong example of "criticism". It is only by introducing the scientific theories of literary criticism and their practical application that these misconceptions and false expectations can be put to an end. With this aim, this book introduces a set of the most widely used critical theories to researchers in this field. These theories include formalism (new criticism), psychoanalysis, structuralism, narratology, mythic-archetypal criticism, new historicism, Lacanian criticism, women's studies, semiotics of poetry (Refater's approach), postmodernism, cultural studies, Semiotics (the approach of Saussure, Press, and Barthes), the theory of reception and criticism of the reader's reaction.
