When Søren Kierkegaard's only romantic relationship with his fiance broke up, he wrote: “A romantic relationship is always constructive, because it is the meaning of our existence. Kierkegaard's philosophical method was to look at life from within himself, and more than any other philosopher, he combined his life with philosophy. He was a romantic idolater who lived hastily and died young, But his short life passed on a meandering train of words and ideas. This book follows Kierkegaard's life story in search of an answer to the "Question of Existence." A problem that both moves and disturbs him pulls him back and pushes him forward: just as we cannot get off the train while it is moving, so too can we not get off it to reflect on the meaning of life. We cannot distance ourselves from it. This life does not describe Kierkegaard's life from a distance and from the perspective of someone who is aware of his life but accompanies him on his journey and joins him in his doubts.
