The Eternal Stranger is an account of the turbulent relationship between a son and his father. The father, who earned a PhD in a developed country during his youth, returned home only to become so consumed by work and bureaucracy that he failed to witness the growth of his children. Years passed, the children grew up, pursued their education, had children of their own, and emigrated. Yet one of them has remained in Tehran, now facing circumstances that are deeply difficult, profoundly uncertain, and unbearably complex.
