Sharḥ-i Dīvān-i Shams-i Tabrīzī Persiska (Farsi) 2025

The Kolliyāt-e Shams-e Tabrizi—also known as the Dīvān-e Kabīr or the Dīvān of Shams-e Tabrizi—is a vast collection of poetry by Rumi (Molana), consisting primarily of ghazals, along with qasidas, qit‘as, poems in Persian and Arabic, mulamma‘ verses, tarji‘-bands, and rubā‘is. It is considered one of the most outstanding masterpieces of mystical poetry in the realm of Islamic culture and Persian literature. The work reflects one of the most wondrous examples of a profound spiritual relationship between two exceptional human beings, whose ecstatic love reaches a state of unity—so much so that Rumi often ends his ghazals with invocations of Shams-e Tabrizi.

The Commentary on the Dīvān of Shams-e Tabrizi is a work compiled to enhance the understanding and interpretation of Rumi’s ghazals. In this second volume—structured in one hundred chapters, as in the first—Karim Zamani offers detailed explanations and interpretations of the poems. The book includes clarifications of difficult vocabulary, analysis of poetic meter, interpretive commentary on each verse, references to classical sources, and notes on Qur’anic verses and prophetic traditions. Its aim is to guide readers into the deeper layers of meaning, symbolism, and mystical allusions in Rumi’s poetry, providing a clearer pathway into one of the most significant works of Persian mysticism.
