Without revealing the story, I can briefly say that My Father Kills Caligula, at the first level, has a strange and fascinating story that you will read… This strange plot is built in the text of nested layers of metaphors, a complex and postmodern narrative structure, intertextual relationships with literary, historical and religious texts, and astonishing spatializations. A narratological analysis of this novel requires an examination of its complex structure and its various narrative elements. The novel, in form, uses various forms of deconstruction: from the unreliable narration and narrator, to the numerous interventions of the narrator and metalepsis (changing the level of narration), the characters speaking to the audience and their sudden entry into the field of criticism of the novel's text of which they themselves are the characters, the emergence of multiple narrators, the ambiguity and merging of characters with each other, intertextuality in references to and imitations of sacred texts, contemporary Persian and world fiction, the use of footnotes in imitation and criticism of scientific texts and contradictory events. Interestingly, all of these formal deviations have a semantic connection with the theme and course of events and characters of the story and are not used merely for taste testing and so-called formal performance.
