From 1984 onwards, he became the vice president and became the number two man of the Syrian regime. With the election of Bashar Assad to replace Bado Khoddam, he still maintained his position as the vice president, but over time he had a disagreement with the country's political system, and first, in June 205 (Khordad (1384)) he was removed from the position of vice president and served for 7 months.
