کتاب پیش رو مجموعه‌شعری است از شاعر و نویسنده‌ی افغان متولد 1357. او که پس از به پایان رساندن تحصیلات ابتدایی خود به ایران مهاجرت کرد، در دهه‌ی هفتاد بار دیگر به کشور خود بازگشت.
از دیگر آثار محمود جعفری می‌توان به کلید خنده، پروازهای منحنی، آموزش شعر، شعر سپید چیست؟، مرثیه آفتاب و... اشاره کرد.
