The main characters of this book, like other works of Henrich Bell, are the result of a fierce women's war, which the author does not spare any opportunity to criticize and condemn. In a part of the book we read; "Reinhard felt with unbridled joy that the war, the war that seemed so oppressive and endless, had begun its collapse. Like a gray curtain that was torn apart and disappeared by the golden strokes of the sun's whip, he could now take a deep breath with a strong and powerful feeling of freedom.
