Dan Camillo's Small World Adventures takes place somewhere in the Po River Valley during the post-World War II era. Dan Camillo, the village priest, and his rival "Pepone", the left-wing mayor, as well as the voice of Christ, who watches over the events from a large cross in the village church, are the three main characters of the adventures of this small world. The confrontation between Reverend Rand Lajoj and Loti Menesh of the village and the mayor, who are both smart and ready to answer, creates interesting comic situations in Dan Camillo's books. Giovanni Guarski, the creator of Dan Camillo, initially wrote these stories for the fixed satirical column of an Italian magazine, and gradually the popularity of Dan Camillo among the audience led to the collection of these stories in the form of a book.
