In the first part of the book is a novel by Kenzaburo Oe, Japanese writer who has win the Noble Prize in 1994. The writer has written the book with philosophical theme to bring up especial essential questions about human existence and creation. The story is about a young student who studies French language in university. He looks for job, after seeing advertise in a newspaper he went to the place for work. He must take dead bodies to the pool of formalin, with a girl who is the student of Medicine in university. He saw different bodies. He spoke with bodies especially with a dead soldier and then they order him instead of keeping the bodies he has to burn them.

در بخش نخست كتاب، داستاني از كنزابورو اوئه، نويسنده ژاپني برنده جايزه نوبل ادبي در سال 1994 با عنوان "در برابر مردگان" مي باشد. نويسنده اين داستان را با تم فلسفي نوشته است تا با نگارش خاص پرسش هايي بنيادين نسبت به هستي و آفرينش انسان مطرح سازد. داستان درباره دانشجويي جوان است كه در رشته زبان فرانسه درس مي خواند و دنبال كار مي گردد، در پي آگهي روزنامه به دانشگاه يا محل مورد نظر براي كار ميرود. او بايد با دختر ديگري كه در رشته پزشكي مشغول تحصيل است، اجساد مردگان را به حوضچه جديد محلول فرمالين منتقل كند. او مردگان مختلفي را مي بيند. او با مردگان به ويژه سرباز مقتولي گفت و گو مي كند و به او دستور مي دهند كه به جاي نگهداري اجساد آنها را بسوزاند.
