In this book Iran's art is divided into three historical periods. The first chapter in two sections describes the history of Iran's art before Islam, such as, architecture, embossed paintings, sculptor, carpet and material and music. The second chapter criticises the Iran's art from the appearance of Islam in Iran till the beginning of Islamic Revolution and a great number of artistic buildings and works are in this period of time. The third chapter is about art in Islamic Republic such as, architecture, personification, traditional arts, theater and cinema and knitting.

در اين كتاب هنر ايران به سه دوره تاريخي تقسيم شده است. بخش اول طي دو فصل به بررسي تاريخ هنر ايران پيش از اسلام مي پردازد. مولف در اين بخش به هنرهايي نظير معماري، نقوش برجسته، پيكر تراشي، فرش و پارچه و موسيقي و ... اشاره مي كند. بخش دوم، هنر ايران را از هنگام ظهور اسلام در ايران تا آغاز انقلاب اسلامي بررسي مي كند، كثرت آثار هنري و ابنيه اي كه از اين دوران باقي مانده بر ارزش اين بخش از كتاب مي افزايد. بخش سوم نيز هنر در جمهوري اسلامي ايران را مورد توجه قرار داده است. در اين بخش به هنرهايي مانند معماري و شهرسازي، هنرهاي تجسمي، هنرهاي سنتي، نمايش و سينما و هنر بافت اشاره شده است.
