Mu'alif bah masābah-yi tawlīd'kunandah: Persian 1401

In his now classic essay, "The Author as Producer," Walter Benjamin, instead of seeking to represent a political stance within a literary work, turns the work itself into a political phenomenon; Instead of asking "What is the work's approach to the production relations of its time?" In this way, the work is questioned within the literary relations of its time, which is the question of literary technique. According to Benjamin, the technique "makes the literary product immediately accessible to social and necessarily materialistic analysis." And determining the correct relationship between political orientation and the literary quality is only possible from this "dialectical starting point". Benjamin's emphasis on technique is an attempt to "rethink our literary forms and genres" with the aim of recognizing "forms of expression that direct our current literary energies."
