Humor, satire, parody, and lampoon have a long-standing history in Persian literature. At times, the semantic boundaries of these terms were not clear, and they were used appropriately or inappropriately. طنز، مطابیه، هزل و هجو در ادبیات فارسی سابقه ای دیرینه دارد. گاه مرز معنایی این مصطلحات روشن نبوده و آن ها را به جا یا نا به جا به کار می بردند. اکنون هزل و هجو را برای سخن سخره آمیزی که بیش تر جنبه ی شخصی دارد، در سخن می آورند. طنز اما سخنی است که به قصد شوخی و ایجاد مطایبه به کار می رود. در فرهنگ عامه، به ویژه افسانه ها همان بازتابی را دارد که در ادبیات مکتوب فارسی می بینیم و گاه حتی از آن هم فراتر می رود، چرا که فرهنگ شفاهی در ایران گستره ای وسیع تر دارد. چه بسا سخنی را به زبان می آوریم که از نوشتن آن ابا داریم و…
