The modifications and changes that the theory of special relativity creates in the theory of space and time are very extensive, however, one important point, namely the laws of geometry, remains intact. Because the laws of geometry, even in the theory of special relativity, should be considered as the laws of the relative positions of stationary rigid bodies, and from a more general point of view, kinematics should be considered as the laws describing measurement scales and clocks. Two specific material points of a rigid body always have a constant distance from each other, which is independent of the location and direction of the body and time. Two specific positions of the hands of the clock, which reside in a special coordinate system, always represent a specific period independent of space and time.
