هرمزد شهریار جهان روشنی و نیکی بود و هست و خواهد بود و اهریمن سلطان جهان تاریکی و بدی نبود و نیست و نخواهد بود. بنابراین یکی هستی خواه و دیگری نیستی خواه است آن دو نیروهایشان را مانند خودشان به وجود آورده اند. هرمزد آمشاسپندان و ایزدان را دوست دار هستی و یاور هستی بخش آفرید و آهریمن کماله دیوان و دیوان را طرف دار نیستی و نابودی گیتی پس انداخت. ایزدان همواره می کوشند تا نیکی و روشنی را گسترش دهند و دیوان در تلاش اند تاریکی و بدی را پخش و پلا کنند و هستی ایزدی را به نیستی دیوان تبدیل سازند.
