The Qasea sermon is the last sermon that Amirul Momineen (AS) delivered in the last days of his life in Kufa and, he spoke about important matters. Unfortunately, this sermon has been lost over time, and today we only have access to a small part of it, which is scattered in sources such as Kitab al-Kafi, al-Tawheed by Sheikh Sadouq, and Nahj al-Balagha. The last report of this sermon is the report presented by Sayyid Ibn Taus in the book of Al-Iqin. He had access to an old version of this sermon (written in 208), but he is content with quoting a small part of this sermon. The only complete version of this sermon left is the one written by Sadr al-Din Qonavi, one of the greatest mystics of the 7th century (at the same time as Sayyed Ibn Taws). In this work, for the first time, this sermon is published in its entirety along with its manuscript.

خطبۀ قاصعه آخرين خطبه‌ای است که اميرالمؤمنين (ع) در واپسين روزهای زندگی خود در کوفه ايراد کرده و در آن از امور مهمی سخن گفته‌اند. متاسفانه اين خطبه در گذر زمان از بين رفته است و امروزه ما تنها به بخش اندکی از آن که به صورت پراکنده در منابعی همچون کتاب الکافی و التوحيد شيخ صدوق و نهج‌البلاغه نقل شده دسترسی داريم. آخرين گزارشی که از اين خطبه ارائه شده گزارشی است که سيد ابن‌طاوس در کتاب اليقين ارائه می‌کند وی به نسخه‌ای کهن (کتابت شده در سال 208) از اين خطبه دسترسی داشت اما او نيز به نقل بخش اندکی از اين خطبه بسنده می‌کند. تنها نسخۀ کاملی که از اين خطبه به‌جای مانده نسخه‌ای است که صدرالدين قونوی يکی از بزرگ‌ترين عارفان قرن هفتم (همزمان با سيد ابن‌طاوس) به خط خود کتابت کرده است. در اين اثر برای اولين بار اين خطبه به صورت کامل به همراه دستنوشتۀ آن منتشر می‌شود.
