نگارنده در این کتاب با استناد به آیات وحی و سیره ی عملی پیامبر اسلام به اثبات تسامح و رد نظریه ی خشونت در اسلام، دست می زند و در طی آن شواهدی عینی و ملموس می آورد که از آن جمله است: گزیده ای از پیمان های پیامبر یا یهود و نقض پیمان از سوی یهود، حقوق عمومی اهل ذمه و ذکر نمونه های از تسامح پیامبر در جنگ های مختلف.
