Story of the seven travel of Sandbad-i Bahri, which is in "One thousand and one nights" is a complete adventure novel and it seems it was not a part of "One thousand and one nights" stories. The stories of Sandbad are the story of Iranian and Arab sailors in Persian Gulf and Oman Sea and India Ocean (to Bengal gulf) and are based on observes and story telling of sailors and geographic maps and information. This book tries to give the true story of Sandbad-i Bahri that is he a brave sailor such as Marco Polo, or he is a secret symbol of one of the physical faculties, or an educational scientist, or an advice merchant.

حكايت های هفت سفر سندباد بحری كه در هزار و يک شب آمده، به لحاظ سبک و ضرباهنگ و ساختار، "رمان" كاملی از گونه ی داستان های ماجراجويانه است؛ و از قرار معلوم در اصل جزو هزار و يک شب نبوده و اثر مستقلی محسوب می شده كه در حدود قرن چهارم هجری پرداخته يا تدوين شده است. روايات سندباد در واقع حكايت های دريانوردی ايرانيان و اعراب در خليج فارس و بحر عمان و اقيانوس هند (تا خليج بنگال) و مبتنی بر مشاهدات و داستان سرايی های دريانوردان و نقشه ها و اطلاعات جغرافيايی زمانه است. كوشش اين دفتر پی بردن به حقيقت حال سندباد بحری است و اين كه آيا او دريانورد بيباک پردلی است از سلک پيشگامان ماركوپولو و واسكوداگاما، يا مظهر رمزی يكی از قوای نفسانی، يا فرزانه ای راز آموخته و راز آموز، يا بازرگانی مصلحت انديش و واقع بين است
