Ah, this letter, this letter! I am sure that it is addressed to Konstantin Päts because it contains a reference to the Head of State, and yet I am completely confused as to how such a letter came into Giffeyde's papers. I guessed at the letter that it was Giffey's letter to Päts. Then, in my head, a seemingly incredible hope exploded, which is why I wanted a letter for myself. I guessed that Giffey had some reason to write to Päts and that one small discovery would lead to the next ... But the reality is harsh: the letter is not from Giffey, authored by someone unknown. There is only one letter on the signature - L. Certainly a woman, this is clear from the letter. It's a love letter. Handwritten, in Russian, in Tallinn, with beautiful handwriting, dated February 6, 1931, begins with "Dear Konstantin".
Tiina Tamman (born 1948) went to school in Türi, studied English in Tartu and moved to England after graduation. For several years he worked for a London wine business, then for twenty years at the BBC, where he was responsible for listening to Estonian Radio news. He then defended his doctorate at the University of Glasgow. The dissertation was also published in Estonian in the book August Torma - Soldier, Ambassador, Spy Listener (2011). Two more biographies followed: Portrait of a Secret Agent (2014) and Paul Oras - Red Admiral (2016). Tamman has also written novels: Awakening (1999), Dense Mist in Tallinn (2000), The Flower's Journey (2001) and Heritage (2018).
