The publication of Alasdair MacIntyre's influential article in 1977 provided a novel model for understanding and analyzing the intellectual developments of individuals and societies, which has been the subject of much enlightening research to this day. This book is a translation of this article, along with two other articles that clearly illustrate the evolutionary process of the aforementioned theory and how it is applied. “Epistemological Crises and Narrative” is a call to view the world through the lens of MacIntyre’s works; a theory in the light of which we too can achieve a deeper and more fruitful understanding of the roots of the intellectual approaches of the reformers and the contemporary and future developments in Iran.

انتشار مقالۀ تأثیرگذار السدیر مک‌اینتایر در ۱۹۷۷ میلادی، الگویی بدیع برای شناخت و تجزیه و تحلیل تحولات فکری افراد و جوامع فراهم آورد که تا امروز دست‌مایۀ پژوهش‌های روشنگرانۀ بسیاری قرار گرفته است. کتاب حاضر ترجمۀ این مقاله است به انضمام دو مقالۀ دیگر که فرایند تکاملی نظریۀ مذکور و چگونگی کاربست آن را به ‌روشنی نشان می‌دهد. «بحران‌های معرفت‌شناختی و روایت داستانی» فراخوانی است برای تماشای جهان از پنجرۀ آثار مک‌اینتایر؛ نظریه‌ای که ما نیز در پرتو آن می‌توانیم به درکی عمیق‌تر و پربارتر نسبت به ریشۀ رویکردهای فکری مصلحان و تحولات معاصر و آتی ایران دست یابیم.
