The emergence of Iqbal as a new model in the world of religious thought does not have much history for the simple reason that even his name was unknown in Iran until 1317 AD, that is, years after the publication of Asrar Khodi, while his reputation in Europe was known by the famous orientalist Nicholson. Iqbal's deep insight into the history of thought and life and his constant emphasis on the dynamism of thought and acceptance of change as a reality that governs the nature of human society led him to a way to build an ideological and behavioral system. Islam is based on a solid foundation by approaching modern knowledge with a respectful but independent approach.

مطرح شدن اقبال به عنوان الگویی نو در جهان اندیشه دینی سابقه زیادی ندارد به این دلیل ساده که حتی نام او تا سال ۱۳۱۷ شمسی یعنی سالها پس از انتشار اسرار خودی هنوز در ایران ناشناخته بود در صورتی که آوازه شهرت او در اروپا نیکلسون شرق شناس معروف را به ترجمه آثار فارسی او واداشته بود بینش ژرف اقبال در مورد تاریخ اندیشه و حیات و تاکید مستمر او بر پویایی اندیشه و پذیرش تغییر به عنوان واقعیتی که بر طبیعت جامعه بشری حاکم است او را به راهی رهنمون شد که بنا کردن نظام عقیدتی و رفتاری اسلام بر شالوده ای استوار با نزدیک شدن به دانش نوین با رویکردی محترمانه ولی مستقل اساس آن را تشکیل میدهد.
